SEATTLE, Wash. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team will close out February and open March in Seattle, taking on Washington State on Feb. 28 before facing No. 12 Washington the following day. The Gauchos will then return home for a midweek matchup against LMU on Wednesday, Mar. 4.

The Gauchos look to rebound after getting swept by No. 38 TCU.
TCU claimed the doubles point with wins on courts one and two before extending its advantage in singles with straight-set victories on courts five and four. Raquel Cabellero sealed the match for the Horned Frogs with a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles, while three remaining matches went unfinished.
ABOUT THE COUGARS
Washington State heads into the weekend riding strong momentum with three consecutive victories, including a dominant doubleheader sweep of Montana and Montana State. The wins pushed the Cougars to a 6-3 overall record as they continue to build consistency early in the dual-match season.
Individually, senior Eva Alvarez Sande has led the charge with an undefeated 9-0 mark in dual competition and a 14-5 overall record this year, improving her career total to 78-44 (.639). Alvarez Sande and partner Yura Nakagawa were also recognized as WCC Doubles Team of the Week following a perfect showing against Sacramento State and UC Davis, where the duo went 2-0 and played a key role in securing the doubles point in both matches.
ABOUT THE HUSKIES
No. 12 Washington enters the weekend in dominant form, carrying a seven-match winning streak while remaining undefeated throughout the spring dual season. The Huskies have continued to strengthen their national slate with ranked victories over No. 33 Utah and No. 30 San Diego in their most recent outings.
Washington's depth is reflected across the national rankings, led by No. 65 Reece Carter, No. 72 Erika Matsuda, No. 90 Anna-
Marie Weissheim, and No. 124 Jermine Sherif in singles play. In doubles competition, the tandem of Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit is currently ranked No. 81 nationally, further highlighting the Huskies' balanced lineup.
ABOUT THE LIONS
UC Santa Barbara will conclude its road trip in Los Angeles with a matchup against No. 53 LMU. The Lions enter the contest with a 5-4 overall record and are coming off a narrow 4-3 loss to Big West rival Cal Poly in their most recent outing.
LMU has also seen strong individual performances this season, highlighted by freshman Sofia Perovani, who earned Freshman of the Week honors on Feb. 17 after posting an undefeated record at No. 5 singles during the Lions' road matches against UC San Diego and San Diego State.
