Gauchos Continue Perfect Start with Dominant 7-0 Victory

STOCKTON, Calif. — The UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team stays undefeated after beating Pacific 7-0 on Friday at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. The Gauchos won all six singles matches and secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Santa Barbara secured the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. On court two, No. 80 Lucca Liu and Miguel Avendano claimed a 6-3 win over C. Schaertlin Coffey and Reuben De Klerk. The Gauchos clinched the point on court three, where Lorenzo Brunkow and Diogo Morais defeated Nico Rating and Hasith Gummuluru, also by a score of 6-3. The Tigers earned the lone doubles win on court one with Niv Zuckerman and Jonty Giesen overcoming Dominique Rolland and Conrad Brown, 6-3.
 
In singles, UC Santa Barbara dominated with straight-set victories across all matches. The opening point in singles came from Avendano at No. 3 singles, who defeated De Klerk 6-3, 6-0. Brown followed at No. 6 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Gummuluru. Liu added another point for the Gauchos, securing a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Giesen at No. 1 singles.
 
Charlie Underwood and Rolland extended the lead for the Gauchos. Underwood triumphed at No. 5 singles, besting Rating 6-1, 6-3. #31 Rolland clinched his match at No. 2 singles with a 7-6(4), 6-3 win over Coffey. Carson Lee completed the sweep at No. 4 singles, defeating Zuckerman 7-6(5), 6-1.
