SEATTLE, Wash. – The No. 36 UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team closed out their time in Seattle with a tough loss to the No. 12 ranked Huskies, falling 4-0 on Sunday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The No. 36 UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team concluded its Pacific Northwest road trip against No. 12 Washington, falling 4-0 on Sunday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.

Washington captured the doubles point to open the match, earning wins on courts one and two. The nationally ranked pair of Erika Matsuda and Carina Syrtveit defeated Ekua Youri and Shachf Liebermann 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, before Alexia Jacobs and Marie Weissheim secured the point with a 6-4 victory over Lily Pradkin and Shanelle Iaconi. The Gauchos picked up a highlight win on court three, where My-Anh Holmes and Raphaelle Leroux earned a 6-3 decision against Reece Carter and Jermine Sherif.

The Huskies maintained momentum into singles play, collecting straight-set victories at Nos. 4 and 5 singles to move within one point of the match. No. 65 Reece Carter ultimately clinched the contest for Washington with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Emma Tutoveanu on court two.

Play was halted on the remaining courts following the clinch, with several tightly contested matches left unfinished. Ekua Youri held a first-set advantage at the top singles position, while Shachf Liebermann and Lily Pradkin were both battling deep into their second sets when action concluded.
