SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — The UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team defeated the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) decisively 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Arnhold Tennis Center. UC Santa Barbara secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions and swept all six singles matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Santa Barbara secured the doubles point with wins on courts three and one. Diogo Morais and Lorenzo Brunkow delivered a 6-2 victory over Alexander Thompson and Alex de Gabriele at No. 3 doubles. Shortly after, #75 Lucca Liu and Miguel Avendano clinched the point with a 6-2 win against Lukas Steffan and Wiliam Dean at No. 1 doubles. The match at No. 2 doubles, featuring Dominique Rolland and Conrad Brown against Jordi Domenech and Tomas Marin, was left unfinished with a score of 5-2.
 
In singles, UC Santa Barbara completed a commanding sweep. The first singles point came from Morais, who won 6-2, 6-1 over de Gabriele at No. 3 singles. Carson Lee followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Tomas Marin at No. 5 singles. At No. 1 singles, #79 Liu added to the tally with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Steffan.
 
The Gauchos continued their dominance as Avendano defeated Oscar Baumgartner 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. #46 Rolland sealed his match with a straight-sets victory, 6-4, 6-4, against Domenech at No. 2 singles. Matei Gavrea closed out the competition with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Brady Hussey at No. 6 singles, completing the sweep for the Gauchos.
