| By:
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team returns to the Arnhold Tennis Center next Friday, Apr. 18 for its final home match of the regular season, hosting CSUN at 1 p.m. The Blue and Gold will then wrap up regular-season play on the road, as Cal Poly hosts the Blue-Green Rivalry at 1 p.m. on Apr. 19.

LAST TIME OUT
Against Cal State Fullerton, freshman My-Anh Holmes clinched the match with a composed three-set victory, lifting the Gauchos to a hard-fought 4-3 win.

UC Santa Barbara set the tone early by securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and three, but Cal State Fullerton responded by taking the first two singles matches to move ahead 2-1. The Gauchos answered with victories from Caroline Beard and Ekua Youri to regain the lead, though Fullerton evened the match at 3-3 to force a decisive final court. With the outcome on the line, Holmes delivered a clutch three-set win, 7-6 (8-6), 5-7, 6-3, to seal the 4-3 victory.

ABOUT THE MATADORS
CSUN enters the match on a four-match winning streak, all against Big West opponents, and holds a 13-6 overall record. The Matadors currently sit fourth in the conference standings with a 4-3 mark. In their most recent outing, they earned a 5-2 victory over UC San Diego.

Senior Angelo Ho leads the team at the No. 1 position with an impressive 14-5 record. In doubles, senior Yuliia Zhytelna has compiled a 16-4 record, including a 10-2 mark alongside Madison Shepperson, making them the team's top pairing.

ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
A win Wednesday for the Mustangs against the Highlanders would set up a regular season finale showdown with No. 48 UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at the Ronca Tennis Center, with the victor earning the No. 1 seed in the Big West Championships, which take place April 22-25 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

Cal Poly has already locked up a top two seed in next week's conference tournament, allowing them to receive a double bye to the Big West Championship semifinals. With a 6-1 record in Big West play, the Mustangs currently sit two matches in front of third place teams Cal State Fullerton (5-3 BW) and CSUN (4-3 BW), and own head-to-head tiebreakers against both.

Junior Candela Aparisi carries a five-match winning streak in singles coming into the week, boasting an 11-7 record on the season and a 5-1 mark in conference play. Aparisi and doubles partner Natalie Lynch also own a team-best 10-5 record as a tandem this season while playing primarily at the No. 2 spot and a 4-0 record in Big West play.
