DAVIS, Calif.- The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (6-6) were able to take down UC Davis Aggies (5-9) by a 4-3 score on Sunday.
The Gauchos were able to get the oh-so elusive doubles point as all three of the UC Santa Barbara pairs won their matches.
In singles, the Gauchos three, four, and five spots got the job done to get the first Big West Conference win for Santa Barbara.
A new look line up had Natalie Da Silveira at number one, and Jaimee Gilbertson at number two. While Da Silveira came up short, losing her match 6-4, 6-3 to Layla Sanders, Gilbertson got the win against Tiffany Pham in three sets, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Melissa Baker was bumped up to the number three spot, where she defeated Kristy Jorgensen 6-2, 6-2, and April Scatliffe was able to get a win at number four, defeating Lani-Rae Green 6-1, 6-1.
The Gauchos come out of the weekend road trip 1-2, but will try and continue their Big West winning ways as they travel to Cal State Northridge on Friday, Mar 13 at 1PM.
