SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- The No. 50 UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (12-6) took down the Cal State Fullerton Titans 7-0 on Friday afternoon.

The Gauchos started off the with strong doubles play. Jaimee Gilbertson and Stacy Yam continued their dominance as a duo with an 8-3 win over Emilia Borkowski and Jessica Pepa. The two Gauchos are now 7-0 on the season together. Candido and Baker contributed to the doubles point with an 8-3 win of their own over Megan Sandford and Camille De Leon.

The Gauchos rolled into the singles play with momentum and were able to sweep the Titans.

Natalie Da Silveira was the first off with a 6-1, 6-1 win over De Leon. Next off was Baker who showed great control and precision throughout her match, defeating Sanford 6-0, 6-3. Candido clinched the win for the Gauchos with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Pepa. At that point the Gauchos could've stopped with the 4-0 victory, but they came to sweep.

Stacy Yam took down Borkowski 6-1, 6-4 while Jaimee Gilbertson got yet another win at number one for the Gauchos, beating Alexis Vanezuela in one of the closer matches of the afternoon 6-4, 7-5.

April Scatliffe was involved in a very close first set, and in the second suffered a rolled ankle that left everyone on edge. However, she wrapped up her ankle and powered through the pain to dominate the second set. The final score had Scatliffe on top 7-5, 6-1.

The Gauchos now stand at 4-0 in Big West play and are on a seven match win streak. Their next match is against UC Irvine tomorrow at 10AM at the Robertson Gym Courts.
