SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- The No. 65 UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (10-6) took down the Cal State Northridge Matadors (8-10) by a score of 4-3 to extended their win streak to four.

For the first time since their match against Oregon in ate Feburary, the Gauchos were unable to clinch the doubles point.

CSUN's Mickey Hsu and Kristen Poei defeated No. 16 Palina Dubavets and Stefani Stojic 6-4 and Amanda Atanasson and Lou Adler defeated Kiryang Kim and Mari Taslagyan 6-2, leaving the point to be decided on court two. CSUN's Vivian Lin and Skyla Alcon defeated Melissa Baker and Stephanie Yamada in a close 7-6(4) match to give the Matadors the 1-0 lead.

Stojic tied the match up at 1-1 with her 6-1, 6-0 win over Poei on court three. Dubavets gave the Gauchos the lead with her 6-2, 6-1 win over Lin on court two.

Alcon tied the match back up with her 6-4, 6-2 in over Atanasson at the number four spot, but Adler took back the lead for UCSB with her 6-1, 7-6 win over Hsu on the top court. Kim tied the match at three with her 7-5, 6-4 win over Natalie Da Silveira at the number five position, leaving the match to be won on court six.

Jaimee Gilbertson was involved in a battle on the sixth court. The Gaucho lost her first set 5-7, and won her second 7-6(5) to force a third set. The Gaucho came out victorious 6-4 in the third to extend UCSB's win streak and to keep the Gauchos at 3-0 in Big West play.

The Gauchos will get back to action on Saturday against Long Beach State at the Rec Center Courts at 11AM.
