SACRAMENTO, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team continues its winning streak by defeating UC Davis and St. Mary's by a score of 4-0 and 4-3 respectively. 

In doubles match against UC Davis, the duo of Natalie Da Silveira and Jaimee Gilbertson brought the first win in doubles match against Samantha Martino and Nikita Pradeep 6-4. Stefani Stojic and Palina Dubavets took the next win against Kristy Jorgensen and Kelsie Bryant 6-4. Melissa Baker and Stephanie Yamada did not have a chance to finish the match at No.2.

The Gauchos continued their energy as No.6 Baker defeated Samantha Martino by a score of 6-1, 6-3. Next, Gilbertson defeated Kristina Breisacher 6-4, 6-1 as No.1 Dubavets finished the singles and won against Lani-Rae Green 6-4, 6-3. Da Silveira and Stojic were leading by a score of 6-4, 5-1 and 7-6 (1), 1-0 against Aggies' Jessie Lee and Nikita Pradeep respectively but did have a chance to finish the match. Amanda Atanasson also left the match unfinished. 

The Gauchos opened up the doubles match against St. Mary's with a lead as the doubles tandem of Stojic and Dubavets defeated Emma Crister and Daneille Mclntyre 6-4. Next,  Gilbertson and Da Silveira won against Parmindar Kaur and Vanessa Nommensen 6-4. At No.2 Baker and Yamada did not have a chance to finish the match.

St. Mary's attempted to fight off as McCord defeated Dubavets by a score of 6-1, 6-4 and Kaur defeated Yamada 6-4, 6-3. At No. 4 Mclntyre fell to Stojic 6-2, 7-6 but the Gaels were able come back as Manji defeated Baker 6-3, 6-4. However, this did not stop the Gauchos as Gilbertson and Da Silveira had a close match against Clementine Clement and Jacqueline Pelletier and won by a score of 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2) and 6-7, 6-4, 3-2 respectively and finished the match 

"Great fight today for our Gauchos," said the head coach Simon Thibodeau. "We played with a lot of heart and will need to bring this fight back again tomorrow against a good Fresno State team"

UCSB Women's Tennis team will travel to Fresno State for their match on Feb. 19 at 11:00 a.m.
