DAVIS, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara women's tennis (1-0, 1-0) won its season opener at UC Davis by a score of 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.

After the Aggies secured the doubles point, the Gauchos rebounded as sophomore Shakhnoza Khatamova dominated her singles competition 6-0, 6-1. Freshmen Marta Gonzalez Balbe (6-2, 6-3) and Camille Kiss (6-4, 6-2) also won their singles matchups. Junior Elizaveta Volodko took her singles competition by a score of 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) to give the Gauchos their fourth and final point.

The duo of Kiss and Volodko took their doubles match 7-5, while Davis won the other two doubles matchups.

Santa Barbara looks to replicate its success as the season continues tomorrow with a match at Berkeley at 11:00 a.m.
