SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team closed out their regular season with a 4-2 victory over PAC-12 opponent Washington State on Monday afternoon. The Gauchos head into the postseason on a nine-match winning streak, the program's longest run since a 10-match stretch during the 2016-17 season. The Cougars are the second PAC-12 team Santa Barbara has taken down this year, having also taken care of business against Colorado in the first game of the winning run.

Gauchos Camille Kiss and Marta Gonzalez-Ballbe won their doubles fixture, but after a Washington State win in the No. 1 doubles matchup, the doubles point came down to Kira Reuter and Shakhnoza Khatamova. They eventually won 6-3, securing the doubles point for Santa Barbara.

UCSB took all of the top three singles matchups to clinch the win. After losing the first set 3-6, Elizaveta Volodko won the next two sets 6-2 and 6-1 to beat her singles opponent Michaela Bayerlova. Camille Kiss easily defeated Hikaru Sato 6-2, 6-2, and Shakhnoza Khatamova dominated Fifa Kumhom 6-1, 6-0. The three singles wins, in addition to the doubles point, contributed to the Gauchos 4-2 win.

Now that the regular season is complete, the Gauchos will prepare for the Big West Championships which will take place from April 29^th-May 1^st at Irvine Great Park.
