UCSB Swimming (M&W) at Utah Tech Invite

Mid-Season Meet
After a week of rest, the UCSB men and women swim teams will travel to St. George, Utah to compete in the Utah Tech Invite. Swimming will start on Wednesday and end on Saturday. The men(2-0) and women(2-1) Gauchos have had much success so far. Most recently, the men's swept UC San Diego and the women emerged victorious against Pepperdine and UC San Diego in the dual meet on November 5.
Top of the Conference
UCSB currently holds the fastest times in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in several events for the 2022-23 season. Alec Cullen holds the top spot in the 200 Breast (2:00.21). Matthew Driscoll now holds the fastest time in the 100 Back(47.81) and is tied for first in the 50 Free(20.29). Both the men's and women's currently hold the top spots in the 800 Free Relay with times of 6:39.06 and 7:29.95, respectively.
Athletes of the Week
UCSB has now had four MPSF/TYR Athletes of the Week: Austin Sparrow, Nina Statler, Samantha Banos, and Matthew Driscoll. Statler and Sparrow were named for the week of October 12 while Banos was named for the week of October 21. This was Statler's and Banos's first MPSF honor of their careers and Sparrow's and Driscoll's first MPSF Athlete of the Week honor of their careers.
