GOLETA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Golf team went out to Twin Lakes Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 28 to volunteer with the Special Olympics of Southern California.
"The Special Olympics is such a great opportunity for our team to give back and help a group of awesome individuals," said Head Coach
Chris Massoletti. "This was truly one of the greatest experiences I've had as a coach. Seeing my players engage, embrace and fully engulf themselves in support of these tremendous athletes was so rewarding. We're proud and honored to be able to work with this organization and look forward to assisting in the future."
Throughout the day, the Gauchos spent their afternoon with the Special Olympics athletes that came from all over Southern California to compete in the tournament. Some Gauchos caddied for some of the golfers while others took score. There were even some Gauchos who got to play with the athletes.
