ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — UC Santa Barbara finished 11th at the William H. Tucker Invitational, closing the three-round event with a team score of 862 at the University of New Mexico Championship Course. Dylan Ma led Santa Barbara with a tie for seventh at 209 (-7), and freshman Andrea Birolini tied for 11th at 210 (-6) after a final-round 68.

"We were so close to having a really solid event in a very strong field," explained Massoletti. "We got two great performances from Dylan and Andrea who both finished in the top 15. We had contributing rounds from every player in the lineup, which is nice.
All in all, lots of positives to take from this week as we beat some really quality teams."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Santa Barbara finished 11th at the William H. Tucker Invitational with a 54-hole total of 862, posting rounds of 288, 286 and 288 at the University of New Mexico Championship Course.
 
Dylan Ma was Santa Barbara's top finisher, tying for seventh at 209 (-7) with rounds of 70, 69 and 70. Birolini tied for 11th at 210 (-6), opening with a 68 and closing with another 68. Nick Waldock tied for 63rd at 221 (+5), Jack Watters tied for 77th at 226 (+10) and Jackson Turner placed 86th at 232 (+16).
 
Ma's 70, 69 and 70 were all under par, while Birolini bookended the tournament with 4-under 68s in the first and third rounds. Ma carded 15 total birdies in the event, tying for the sixth most.
 
UP NEXT
UC Santa Barbara will have a couple of weeks off of competition before closing out their fall schedule at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational. The Gauchos will head to Stockton and take part in the three-day event starting on Monday, October 12.
