HONOLULU (March 26, 2023) — The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team won the doubles point in a very close match against Hawai'i Sunday evening, but ultimately fell to the Rainbow Wahine, 4-3, in Honolulu. Neither team led by more than a point during the match, which went down to the final singles contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos took the doubles point, with Marta Gonzalez Ballbe and Camille Kiss winning on court two in response to a court three loss before Amelia Honer and Kira Reuter earned a close win on court one to claim the point for UCSB.
Hawai'i took the lead early on in singles, but Honer tied the match by winning on court one. The hosts re-took the lead, then Valentina Khrebtova brought the Gauchos level again with a win on court four. It was all down to court two, where Camille Kiss had forced a third set after dropping set one, but in the end, it was the Rainbow Wahine who claimed victory.
