SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team opened the season Sunday afternoon against the University of San Francisco. After falling behind in doubles play, the Gauchos dominated in singles action to bring home a victory.

THE MATCH
Final: UC Santa Barbara 6, San Francisco 1
Records: UC Santa Barbara 1-0, San Francisco 2-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite dropping the doubles point, UC Santa Barbara had a nearly flawless day. The Dons took every doubles match and a 1-0 lead into singles action.

In singles action, every Gaucho won in straight sets to earn the victory. UC Santa Barbara rattle doff six straight victories to win the match. Camille Kiss started singles play off with a 6-1, 6-2 victory to cut the lead in half. Lucy Lu then earned her first win in the Blue and Gold to level the score. From there it was all Gauchos. Tyra Richardson also earned her first win as a Gaucho defeating her opponent 6-2 and 6-3. UC Santa Barbara went on to win the next three matches and earn a 6-1 win.
