SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team has signed international student, Emma Tutoveanu to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Simon Thibodeau announced today.
Tutoveanu will join the Gauchos program in the fall of 2024. Hailing from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada she was an under-16 national finalist in singles play, earned a junior world ranking as high as 499 and owns a 62 percent winning percentage in her junior career.
"Our program is thrilled to have signed Emma," said Thibodeau. "Emma is one of the top Canadian recruits for fall 2024 and she keeps getting better. Emma is a tall motivated lefty, she is disciplined and loves to compete. She is a good team player and strong academically. She brings an outgoing personality and she will be fun to work with. We are looking forward to having her on our team!"
