Stanford's Alexandra Yepifanova was recently named the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week. The Cardinals come in with plenty of early season experience and are 8-1 overall.
UC Santa Barbara will be looking for their first ever win over the Cal Bears, who currently lead the series 6-0. The Bears recently improved their season to 4-2 after securing a win against San Diego State University last Sunday.
IN THE RANKINGS
The ITA recently released their new set of rankings and the Gauchos slid into the No. 57th spot in the team rankings. For singles and doubles play, Honer continues to show in both rankings. For singles she now ranks No. 62 and for doubles, with partner Kira Reuter, the duo ranks 35th.
FALL RECAP
The Gauchos started the fall season strong with Amelia Honer and Camille Kiss opening the fall season with a win over the No. 8 ranked doubles duo from Georgia. They carried that momentum throughout the fall season as Honer defeated Katherine Hui from Stanford. Hui was ranked as the No. 2 Newcomer by the ITA and won the U.S. Open Junior Championships previously. Kira Reuter and Amelia Honer also earned a spot in the ITA National Fall Championships, they were just one of 32 doubles teams to earn a spot in the Championships.
