SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team is back in action at the Arnhold Tennis Center this weekend as they take on Penn State on Satuday, March 9 followed by No. 14 San Diego on Sunday, March 10. The Gauchos recently split their weekend in LA, with a win over LMU and a loss against the fierce No. 8 USC Trojans.

HISTORY
UC Santa Barbara and Penn State will meet for the first time on Saturday, March 9. The Gauchos will be the final leg of the Nittany Lions west coast swing. Penn State will play Long Beach State and LMU before competing against the Gauchos.
 
Looking at San Diego, the Gauchos will be looking to bounce back from a tough 6-1 loss from their most recent matchup in the previous 2022-23 season. Santa Barbara still has the slight upper hand with a 3-2 overall record with the Toreros. San Diego recently achieved the highest ITA ranking in their program's history, ranking as high as No. 12 in the country, they have since moved down two spots and are currently ranked No. 14.

UC Santa Barbara individuals currently have four wins over ranked opponents, three of those have come from Amelia Honer. She has beat the previously ranked No. 32, 60 and 116 singles players. Holding the other ranked individual win is Camille Kiss who recently beat the No. 21 ranked singles player in the Gauchos loss to Stanford.
