HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos were ready from the jump as they took a quick advantage in doubles play. Duo
Amelia Honer and
Kira Reuter gave the Gauchos some early momentum picking up a 6-1 win on court one.
Camille Kiss and
Lucy Lu then clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory in the No. 2 position.
Carla Pacot and
Anna Weissheim were on the verge of clinching the doubles point as well as they were up 5-1 on court three before their match was abandoned.
In singles play the Gauchos continued their dominance with
Camille Kiss being one of three players to earn straight-set victories. Kiss earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 2 position before
Anna Weissheim blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 to extend the UC Santa Barbara lead to 3-0.
Amelia Honer capped off the day with a straight-set victory in the No. 1 position to finish of the Gauchos sweep of the Anteaters.
