IRVINE, Calif. — The Big West announced its 2023-2023 Commissioner's Honor Roll Wednesday. UC Santa Barbara had 280 student-athletes recognized, the second-most among the conference's 11 member institutions. The Gaucho Men's Track and Field team led the way with 34 honorees. The Women's Track and Field team was close behind, with 32. In total, seven of UC Santa Barbara's teams saw 20 or more student-athletes honored.
The Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes any student athlete rostered and eligible to compete in a Big West-sponsored sport who maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. There are three categories on the list: Honor Roll, for those student-athletes whose GPA is between 3.00 and 3.20; With Honors for those whose GPA is between 3.21 and 3.50 and Highest Honors for those whose GPA is 3.51 or above.
