Gauchos Earn Multiple First Place Finishes on Day Two

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Gauchos have completed the second day of competition in Annapolis for the Navy's 2025 Invitational. After the second day, overall the Gauchos are in third place behind the Naval Academy and Villanova University. The men's team is in second place only behind the hosting Navy. The women's team is sitting in third place after day two of three this weekend. The blue and gold are ready to make a push in, the final day of competition. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
To start the day off the Women's 200 Medley Relay podium was swept by blue and gold. Hazel Derr, Ashely Ray, Eugenie Lanilis, and Samantha Banos backed up yesterday's record 400 performance with another first place finish. 

Samantha Banos brought home an individual first place in the 100 Fly with a time of 53.40. Zachary Tamusaitis also took the Gold home in 100 Fly today swimming a time of 46.51. Ashley Ray won first place in the 100 yard breaststroke today with a time of 1:01.34. 

Later in the day the blue and gold only got stronger. Hazel Derr took first place in the 100 Back with a time of 54.23. Right behind her, CoCo Quill secured the second place in the same event with a time of 54.76. To wrap up the strong performance the Men's 800 Free relay team finished first with a time of 6:30.00. 

NEXT TIME OUT
The blue and gold will be back to finish what they started in Annapolis. Events start at 10 am for prelims and 6pm for the finals of the 2025 Fall Navy Invitational
