SAN DIEGO, Calif – The No. 32 UC Santa Barbara Women's Tennis team begins post-season play as the No. 1 seed at The Big West Championships starting with a semifinal matchup on Saturday. The Gauchos will face the winner of Friday's quarterfinal match between No. 4 seed Long Beach State and No. 8 seed UC Davis.

The Gauchos clinched The Big West Regular-Season Championship and the No. 1 seed with a 4-0 sweep over Cal Poly on Saturday at the Arnhold Tennis Center. Amelia Honer and Tyra Richardson both picked up wins on their senior day with Richardson earning the Gauchos' winning point.
SCOUTING THE BEACH
No. 73 Long Beach State concluded the regular season with a 14-5 record. The Beach defeated No. 9 seed UC Irvine in the first round to advance to Friday's semifinal match. The Gauchos defeated the Beach just one month ago where Long Beach took the doubles point, but Santa Barbara ultimately came away with the 5-2 victory. The victory was the Gauchos' eighth straight when facing the Beach, bringing their all-time record against Long Beach State to 8-14.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
The Aggies got an impressive 4-1 win over the No. 5 seed UC San Diego to advance to the quarterfinals following a 3-6 record in conference play this year. The Gauchos defeated UC Davis on March 2, picking up their first conference win of the season with a 6-1 final score. The win brought their all-time record to 22-0 when facing the Aggies.
