Liebermann Earns Back-to-Back Player of the Week Nods

IRVINE, Calif. – For the second week in a row, UC Santa Barbara women's tennis student-athlete Shachf Liebermann has been named The Big West Player of the Week.

In UC Santa Barbara's near upset of No. 22-ranked Stanford, Liebermann was vital in the Gauchos success in the match. In No. 3 doubles, Liebermann, along with partner Ekua Youri gave the Gauchos the early advantage winning their match 6-3.

In singles action, Liebermann defeated Caroline Driscoll, who was ranked 113th nationally in singles, in straight sets and gave the Gauchos a 3-2 lead in the match. Unfortunatley the Cardinal stormed back and won on courts five and six to pick up the win.

Liebermann is now 4-1 in singles play in dual matches and 2-2 in doubles play in dual matches. Liebermann and the Gauchos are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m. against TCU. The Gauchos and Horned Frogs will play at Arnhold Tennis Center.
