SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara women's tennis standout Shachf Liebermann has been named The Big West Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Against No. 74 LMU, Liebermann capped the singles sweep at the top spot with a gritty comeback victory, rallying after dropping the opening set to defeat Lidia Gonzalez 5-7, 7-5, 10-6 at No. 1 singles.
Against No. 32 San Diego, Liebermann carried that momentum into another standout performance, cruising to a commanding 6-2, 6-1 win over Charlotte Keitel at the top of the lineup.
Liebermann and the Gauchos return to action this weekend as UC Santa Barbara hosts Memphis on Friday before welcoming No. 10 Cal on Saturday at the Arnhold Tennis Center.
