SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara hits the road for a three-match Big West swing across Southern California, opening at UC San Diego on Apr. 10 at 1 p.m. The Gauchos will then face UC Irvine on Apr. 11 at 11 a.m. before wrapping up the trip against Cal State Fullerton on Apr. 12 at 11 a.m.

In a dominant wire-to-wire performance, UC Santa Barbara controlled the match from doubles through the final singles courts.
UC Santa Barbara secured the doubles point with wins from
Emma Tutoveanu and
My-Anh Holmes on court three (6-0) and
Caroline Beard and
Ekua Youri on court two (6-3) to take the early lead. The Gauchos carried that momentum into singles, with Holmes, Tutoveanu, and No. 1
Shachf Liebermann each earning straight-set victories to clinch the match. With the decision secured, UCSB added three more singles wins, including comeback victories from
Ekua Youri,
Isabella Wong, and
Lily Pradkin, to complete the sweep and earn their fourth Big West win.
ABOUT THE TRITONS
UC San Diego enters the match with a 5-13 overall record and a 1-5 mark in Big West play, placing them second to last in the conference ahead of UC Riverside. The Tritons are looking to snap a five-match losing streak as they prepare to face the Blue and Gold. They currently hold a 1-6 record at home.
Head coach Sebastian Bader, now in his third season and the fourth head coach in program history, welcomed five newcomers to the Tritons' 2025-26 roster. Highlighting the group is freshman Alisa Lansky, who holds a 9-5 singles record primarily at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, along with a 7-4 doubles record with Allison Lian.

Coming into the week, UC Irvine holds an 11-6 overall record and sits in the middle of the Big West standings with a 2-3 conference mark. The Anteaters are coming off a 6-1 loss to CSUN and will be looking to regain momentum as conference play continues.
A couple of weeks ago, Irvine picked up a notable win over No. 64 Hawai'i that was clinched by senior captain Carolyna Fowler, who improved to 10-7 with a straight-sets victory to secure UCI's first ranked win since the 2013-14 season. Bella Pitchford has also put together an impressive year, posting a 12-3 dual match record primarily at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions, though her nine-match singles win streak was recently snapped.
ABOUT THE TITANS
Cal State Fullerton sits just behind the Gauchos in the Big West standings with a 5-1 conference record and a 12-5 overall mark. Their most recent loss came against a familiar Blue and Gold opponent, No. 64 Long Beach State, who edged the Titans 4-3 in a tightly contested match.
Junior Emilie Lugon-Moulin enters the week on an eight-match singles win streak, primarily competing at the No. 2 spot and holding an 11-4 overall record. Freshman Amelia Zylberman has also impressed at No. 3 with a 12-4 spring record. UC Santa Barbara will be the highest-ranked opponent the Titans have faced so far this season.
