GOLETA, Calif. (June 15) – UC Santa Barbara Track and Field's own Finn Andrews has earned All-American Honorable Mention following a standout senior season. As the only Gaucho to compete at the NCAA National Championships, Andrews capped off his collegiate career on track's biggest stage.
After first setting the program record in the 400m hurdles during the 2025 post season, Andrews has continued to raise the bar, breaking his own record four times this past season. At the Big West Championships, Andrews defended his conference title in the event, becoming the back-to-back Big West champion in the 400m hurdles. Crossing the line in 49.88, Andrews became the first Gaucho in program history to go under 50 seconds in the event.
This performance secured his ticket to NCAA West Regionals, where he was only one of six Gauchos to qualify. In Fayetteville, Ark., Andrews placed second in the quarterfinals to earn an automatic qualification spot to the semifinals. In the second round, Andrews delivered another record breaking performance, lowering his own school record to 49.78 and finishing sixth in the West Region to punch his ticket to the NCAA Championships.
At Hayward Field, Andrews closed his collegiate career to finish 22nd in the nation for the 400m hurdles. With his All-American honor, Andrews caps off a remarkable senior season and leaves UC Santa Barbara as the school record holder in the 400m hurdles.
