COLORADO SPRINGS — UC Santa Barbara tied for sixth at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, finishing the three-round event at 863 (-1) on Eisenhower Golf Course's Blue Course.
Dylan Ma led Santa Barbara with a tie for third at 209 (-7), while
Nick Waldock also finished in the top 10 in a tie for ninth at 212 (-4).

"This was a solid week for the boys," said Massoletti. "We definitely didn't play our best as a team and left shots out there. With that being said, it was a really great bounce-back from last event for Dylan [Ma] and Nick [Waldock]. Dylan had a chance to get the win today but was just a couple of shots shy. Nick was solid all week and was very patient. They both showed a lot of maturity on a course that can make you feel like you're doing everything right and getting very little from your round. We had a really strong finish from everyone today in our last three holes to make a move up the leaderboard. I am really proud of how they hung in there and fought till the end."
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gauchos opened with a 286 (-2), followed with a 289 (+1) and closed with a 288 (E).
Dylan Ma led Santa Barbara, tying for third at 209 (-7) after rounds of 68, 69 and 72.
Nick Waldock tied for ninth at 212 (-4), including a 70 (-2) in the final round, while
Jack Watters tied for 42nd at 219 (+3) after closing with a 71 (-1).
Ma's final-round 72 was even par after opening with rounds of 68 and 69. Waldock's 212 came with 2-under 70s in the first and third rounds, and an even-par 72.
Andrew Reyes competed in the individual competition on the Silver Course of Eisenhower Golf Course. Reyes fired back-to-back 74s before posting an even-par 72 on the final day. Reyes ended the competition shooting a four-over and tying for 16
th.

UC Santa Barbara will stay on the road as they travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to compete in the William H. Tucker Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico.
