SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team beat St. Mary's (0-1) 4-0 in a thrilling match Saturday morning at the Arnhold Tennis Center. Amelia Honer and Kira Reuter clinched the doubles point for Santa Barbara (1-1), erasing a 4-0 deficit and winning the tiebreaker 7-1. Camille Kiss secured the victory for the Gauchos with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 comeback win of her own against the Gaels' (0-1) Julia Ronney in number three singles.
In addition to Honer and Reuter's comeback win in doubles, the duo of Kiss and Filippa Bruu-Syversen took the number three doubles matchup handily, beating Olivia Rook and Stefanie Silva 6-1.
Bruu-Syversen also picked up her first collegiate dual match singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jocelyn Massey in the number five singles spot. Reuter, in the number four spot, defeated her singles opponent Lene Mari Hovda 7-6 (4), 6-2. Kiss' win at the number three spot clinched the 4-0 win for the Gauchos.
