PALO ALTO, Calif. (March 30, 2023) – The UC Santa Barbara Track and Field teams are ready for another weekend of competition as they head North, sending members of their team to the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco State Invitational.
The distance runners kicked things off at the San Francisco State Invitational as that group plans to race at that event while the rest of the track and field teams compete at the Stanford Invitational. With tough competition coming from all over the country, the Gauchos will work to improve their marks for conference and regional seeding. Jared Freeman and Amanda Spear are coming off first-place finishes in two of their events at the Westmont Classic while Malia Benson will compete in her first meet since breaking UC Santa Barbara's record in the javelin.
The first event at Stanford will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday with Saturday's events beginning at 10 a.m. for collegiate competition. There will be a live stream through FloTrack as well as live stats available through Track Scoreboard. Fans can follow along with the runners at San Francisco State through recaptiming.com.
