TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 75 UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team beat Utah State 4-0 in their first match at the Arizona State Eight-Team Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Kiwanis Tennis Center. The win turns things around for the Gauchos, who had lost two in a row going into the match but now sit at 6-3 overall.
How it Happened
- Stefano Tsorotiotis and Alejandro Vedri opened things up for the Gauchos with a 6-0 win on court two over David Cierny and Bodin Zarkovic
- Phillip Jordan and Kai Brady wrapped up the doubles point with a court one 6-2 victory over Jack Ninteman and Javier Ruiz
- Santa Barbara's first singles win came on court four where Pablo Masjuan took down Sergi Micó Fenollar 6-4, 6-0
- Kai Brady defeated Roko Savin 6-0, 6-4 on court five to put the Gauchos up 3-0
- Phillip Jordan secured the 4-0 victory for UCSB with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Cierny in the top singles matchup
